A Tipperary premises was among eight food businesses were ordered to close their doors last month by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
It follows an inspection on April 17th at Barne Lodge at Rathkeevan.
Among the breaches of legislation reported at the restaurant on the N24 between Clonmel and Cahir was vacuum packed raw tuna labelled with a preparation date of 14 March implying a storage-life of over one month.
There was also chocolate cake labelled with a preparation date of 9 April implying a storage-life of day of production plus eight days.
FSAI officials also found a build-up of grease in a number of areas in the kitchen.
The insulation of the beer lines adjacent to clean drinking glasses at the bar was described as grossly unclean.
Accumulated mould was observed on internal surfaces of the ice machine.
The closure order at Barne Lodge was lifted on April 19th.
The other businesses were located in Dublin, Meath, Waterford and Limerick.
