The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is once again asking Tipperary donors to step up to the mark.
During the holiday period maintaining blood supplies for Irish hospitals becomes especially challenging as clinic attendance usually declines.
This year, the challenge is even greater as hospitals across Ireland are requiring 6% more blood than this time last year.
As a result 15,000 new blood donors are needed this year.
A blood donation clinic is taking place in West Tipp tomorrow evening at the Cappawhite Community Hall from 4.50pm to 8.10pm.
Appointments may be made by phoning 1800 222 111.
The IBTS is making a strong appeal for maximum attendance from regular donors while new donors are especially welcome.
