Work is underway behind the scenes to make sure the new Cashel Community Nursing Unit isn’t delayed by planning issues.
It’s emerged that the new 60-bed HSE project wouldn’t get planning permission at its proposed location until a new Town Development Plan is agreed.

But that has been delayed due to new planning legislation which is due to come into effect.
Local Cllr Roger Kennedy says talks are now underway between HSE and the local authority staff to try and find a way around these difficulties.
