A boil water notice that had been in place for 11,000 customers in parts of Clonmel has been lifted with immediate effect.

People served by the Glenary supply were issued with the alert last Tuesday as a result of operational issues which affected treatment at the water treatment plant for a short period of time.

Following consultation with the Health Service Executive, customers can now resume normal use of water supply. This follows consistent satisfactory sampling results.

The areas supplied by Glenary include parts of Clonmel Town centre and surrounding areas including Cashel Road, Cahir Road and Ring Road as well the Kilmacomma and Finger Post areas in Co. Waterford.
