A Tipperary 14-year-old is going to be the first speaker to address the new Oireachtas Disability Committee.
Cara Dermody from Ardfinnan is appearing at the joint committee in Leinster House this morning.
It’s part of her campaign to make the government and the HSE meet the legal obligation to complete ‘assessment of needs’ within the stipulated 6-months.
Cara says she has a list of complaints.
“I’m going to be speaking about the national disgrace in Ireland that is the government is breaking the law and that they need to stop breaking the law by complying with the law. Not changing the law or making any adjustments – they need to start complying with the six months. And I’m going to be bringing up numerous other things as well.”
