500 people on trolleys in hospitals across country

The equivalent of the entire population of Mullinahone are being cared for on trolleys at hospitals across the country today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 500 people without a bed today.

26 of these are at South Tipperary General in Clonmel while a further 31 are on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick.

There are 2 people without a bed at Nenagh General today.

Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded with 57 patients on trolleys around the Emergency Department or in overflow areas of wards.
