482 patients without a bed at Irish hospitals

University Hospital Limerick – which provides emergency cover for North Tipp, Limerick and Clare – has more than 100 people being cared for on trolleys today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation the Dooradoyle medical facility has exactly twice as many patients without a bed today than the next most overcrowded.

There are no beds available for 108 people who have been admitted to UHL followed by CUH in Cork with 54.

In all there are 482 patients being cared for on trolleys according to the INMO however there are no overcrowding issues at TUH in Clonmel or Nenagh Hospital today.
