It’s an extremely busy start to the week for frontline staff at University Hospital Limerick.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation the facility which covers North Tipp has 114 patients without a bed today.

This accounts for one fifth of the overall number in hospitals nationally with 553 people who have been admitted being cared for on trolleys.
CUH in Cork is next in line with 64 while there are 8 patients without a bed at TUH in Clonmel.
