1-in-4 hospital patients without a bed today are at UHL

The number of patients without a bed at University Hospital Limerick is in excess of 100 today.

They are among 438 across the country who have been admitted to Irish hospitals that are being cared for on trollies.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation 110 – or a quarter – of these are at UHL which covers North Tipp.

This is followed by University Hospital Galway with 67 while Cork University Hospital has 29.

TUH in Clonmel has 13 patients being cared for on trollies.
