A civil servant responsible for verifying Ireland’s Crime Stats claims he wasn’t presented with the figures before they were given to the Policing Authority.
It’s understood the head of the Garda analysis service sent a letter to the Garda Commissioner saying he was not given an advance copy of the report.

The Sunday Times reports Dr Gurchand Singh has written to Noirín O’Sullivan after he was quizzed on the data at a public hearing last month.
It comes amid heightened pressure on Commissioner O’Sullivan after Fianna Fáil last week joined calls for her to step down.
