Harris Says Independants Could Play Pivotal Role

Simon Harris says it will be important for a clear leader to emerge from the Regional group of Independents if they go into coalition with Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.

The eight Indepentants are believed to be the front runners to form a new government.

Tipperary TD Michael Lowry is expected to have preliminary talks with the two bigger parties over the next couple of days and is understood to be the De Facto leader of the group.

Speaking on a visit to the Garda Training College in Templemore last Friday Simon Harris said it would be crucial that there is one point of contact with the loose group of TDs:
