Halawa family to meet with MEPs

The Dublin teenager has been held in an Egyptian jail since his arrest at a protest in Cairo over two years ago.

His trial has been repeatedly postponed and human rights groups say they fear for his safety.

Ibrahim's ninth scheduled court appearance was called off earlier this month when two of the defendants failed to appear for the mass trial.

Irish MEP Lynn Boylan has invited the Halawa family to meet her European colleagues where they'll be joined by released prisoner Peter Greste.
