Guidance counsellors defend well-being classes

Counsellors are denying the classes for Junior Cert students will eat into time studying other academic subjects.

Students entering secondary schools this September will be the first to get the classes, and Fianna Fáil has claimed some other topics will lose class time as a result.

The Education Minister says the claim’s misleading, and wellbeing classes form a part of wider Junior Cycle reform.
