Last night Euro zone ministers rejected a last minute appeal for a bailout extension from the Greek government.

But they're due to hold a conference call this morning to consider Greece's request for a new 2-year bailout from the EU.

The country's banks remain closed as Greece waits for Sunday's referendum which is being seen by many as a vote on whether it wants to stay in the Euro.

Thousands of people opposed to the government's handling of the crisis gathered in Athens last night for a protest.
