Government urged to invest in Youth Guarantee

The call from the National Youth Council of Ireland comes as new figures show nearly 1 in 5 Irish young people aren't in education, training or employment.

The Youth Guarantee is designed to offer education, training or work experience to young people who are unemployed for over four months.

But the NYCI says the governments failed to implement the deal. Council spokesperson James Doorley says having 40 thousand young people on the live register is a serious issue.
