Francis Fitzgerald also stated that they will enter the Garda Training College in Tipperary in September – which is two months later than previously stated by her predecessor who had planned to have two separate intakes by the middle of this summer.
Over 20 thousand people applied to join the force – with the numbers whittled down to 300- a hundred of which will enter Templemore in September.
