The HSE Service Plan for 2015 – which was unveiled this morning – includes continued funding for a number of capital developments in the county.
Nationally funding for health services is being increased slightly for the first time since 2008 with an extra €115 million available.
The Tipperary projects include the extension of the Borrisokane Primary Care Centre which is expected to be fully operational early in 2016.
Two new theatres are due for completion at Nenagh General Hospital in the first quarter of next year.
South Tipp General’s radiology department is being extended to accommodate a CT scanner – this should be up and running by the end of 2015 with plans for an MRI facility in the future.
Our Lady’s Hospital in Cashel is expected to attain HIQA Compliance in the 3rd quarter of next year.
Tipperary Fine Gael TD Noel Coonan says while many of these projects have been in the pipeline for some time it was down to this Government to deliver on the promises with much needed funding.
