Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore says there has been no discussions about a Cabinet reshuffle. But the Labour leader says he expects the issue to arise before the next election, saying it is unusual for the same team of ministers to complete a five-year term.
He was speaking after Taoiseach Enda Kenny said there would be a Cabinet reshuffle before the 2016 election.
Eamon Gilmore says it is a matter which will probably be discussed in the future:
“If you look at history, it has generally been the case that you don't finish with the same 15 – or at least the same 15 in the same positions as you did at the beginning” he said.
“It's not something that is immediately on the horizon – but I think it is probably something that will be addressed in the remaining life of the government” he added.
