The Sinn Fein President will attend a meeting with representatives of the US State Department.

There were claims that Gerry Adams had been snubbed, because Sinn Fein had blocked the welfare reform deal in the North.

However, the meeting will be taking place.

Meanwhile, Gerry Adams has denied that his party conducted an internal inquiry into between 40 and 60 cases of sex abuse in 2006.

He is also accusing Enda Kenny of engaging in being “ignoble” by saying that Sinn Fein engaged in a cover up of sexual crimes.
