Gardaí warn of bogus collectors operating in the Nenagh area.

The callers are claiming to be collecting money for charities such as the St Vincent de Paul or Trocaire.

Treasurer of the Nenagh branch of St Vincent de Paul, Joe Gleeson says people called to houses in Newtown asking for financial donations for the society. Someone also called to the convent in Nenagh looking for money for the charity.

He points out that St Vincent de Paul don’t do door-to-door collections for money in North Tipperary.
