She'd been on board an Aer Lingus flight on which Brazilian man died.
The 44 year old Portuguese woman was arrested at Cork airport when Gardaí searched her luggage after she disembarked from the flight from Lisbon.
She was brought to Togher Garda Station in Cork where she was questioned about whether she knew a 24 year old Brazilian John Santos Gurjao.
The 24 year old took ill and died on the same flight from Lisbon.
A post-mortem on Monday confirmed that Mr Santos Gurjao had ingested up to 100 pellets of cocaine.
Gardaí have continued to liaise with the Brazilian embassy regarding the repatriation of Mr Santos Gurjao's body back to his family in Boa Vista in north western Brazil.
