Gardaí begin search for organised crime

Gardaí are searching 20 premises in the Dublin area as part of a crackdown on organised crime and suspected laundering of the proceeds.

The operation, which got underway at around 10 o'clock this morning, involves members of the Criminal Assets Bureau, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

Officers are searching a number of private residences as well as some commercial premises associated with the motor trade.

Gardaí say the search operation is a result of an ongoing multi agency investigation into serious organised criminal activity in the Dublin Region.
