Garda investigation continues into County Louth death

It's understood she was discovered by Gardai investigating a fatal crash on the M1 motorway.

They had called to the house the driver's car was registered to near Hackballscross and found the body of the woman, who's believed to have suffered head injuries.

A post mortem is also expected to be carried out on the male driver of a car that collided with a truck and another vehicle on the M1 yesterday afternoon.

Reports suggest the car was being driven in the wrong direction.

The dead man has been named locally as Jim Quigley, from Co Louth.
