The location of the Garda Training College in Templemore is not putting older recruits off joining.
That’s the view as the latest intake of trainees continue their first training window at the county Tipperary campus.

They are the first batch where anyone aged 35-to-50 could apply after the limits were relaxed.
The latest recruitment drive is open for another week after a lot of talk during the election of the need for a second training college nearer Dublin to make it easier for potential recruits with families to sign up.
Superintendent Liam Geraghty says the new older recruits have no trouble with coming to Templemore.
