It’s already been a “merry” Christmas for one Tipperary motorist but for all the wrong reasons.
Members of the Tipperary Roads Policing Unit were carrying out hi-visibility patrols last night when a motorist came upon one of their checkpoints in Roscrea.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after failing a road side breath test.
Back at the station Gardaí discovered the motorist was almost five times over the limit for alcohol and is facing a court appearance.
The advice from Gardaí as always is never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
