One of the worst incidents of speeding during the Garda Christmas Road Safety Campaign was in Tipperary.
A driver was caught doing 121 kilometres an hour in a 50kph zone on the N52 in Ardcroney.

During the campaign which lasted from the end of November to last Monday 17 people were killed on the roads
There were also 85 serious crashes where people got life-threatening or life changing injuries.
939 people were arrested for drink and drug driving and 13,500 drivers were caught speeding.
