A man had to be subdued by Gardaí in Thurles over the weekend.
He was seen urinating in public and became abusive when Gardaí tried to arrest him.
A woman who was with him for the match in Semple Stadium was also taken into custody.
Sgt Carol O’Leary says by all means enjoy the match but behave responsibly.
“He was intoxicated and refused to give details to the Guards. So when he was informed he was going to be arrested he became physically violent and resisted arrest. He had to be pepper sprayed and handcuffed.
“During the arrest a female who was with him tried to prevent Gardaí from arresting him. She was cursing at Gardaí, threw a Garda cap into traffic and smashed a Guards glasses.
“So they’ve both been arrested and taken to Thurles Garda station where they were charged. They had come up for the match and they’ll be back up again for Court.”
