Seven people are due before Cashel District Court this morning following a major Garda operation in Clonmel yesterday.
Two sites in the town were searched – one on the Heywood Road and the other near the Cahir Road Roundabout on the N24 Inner Relief Road.
The operation was supported by members of the Army, National Parks and Wildlife Service, ISPCA and Customs and is ongoing.
It’s in connection with an arson attack and aggravated burglary on a halting site on the Inner Relief Road on March 18th last.
In addition to the arrests, Gardaí have also searched a number of domestic premises and seized a quantity of drugs, weapons and suspected stolen property, as well as eight dogs in relation to animal welfare offences.
