Local Fine Gael T.D Tom Hayes has received assurances that the future of St Patrick's Hospital in Cashel is secure.

Minister of State for Primary Care Alex White has confirmed that the transfer of respite and rehabilitation services to Our Lady's campus will allow for the refurbishment of facilities within St. Patrick's.

Following this a development plan will be prepared around the long stay facilities at the hospital.

The future of St Patrick's has been in doubt following the recently published HSE South Regional Service Plan 2013, which identified challenges posed by the design and layout of the premises.
