Hundreds of mourners have gathered at the church of the Ascension of the Lord in Balally, to remember Thomas, Sylvia, Jim, Christy and baby Mary.
Parish Priest of the Travelling people, Derek Farrell is chief celebrant at this requiem mass, which honours five members of the Connors family.
Fr Farrell will speak of the Carrickmines fire 12 days ago, as an earthquake of devastating grief, that visited the Connors home.
Thomas and Sylvia, and three of their children, 5 year old Jim, 3 year old Christy and 5 month old Mary perished in that fire, leaving two of their children Michael and Tom orphaned.
Thomas and Sylvia are described as a match made in heaven, and the the best father and mother that any children could ask for .
Fr Farrell will also praise the goodwill of the community in the wake of the tragedy saying it must be built upon, and that this is a watershed moment which demands a new departure.
The funeral cortege will travel to Wexford this evening, where the family will be laid to rest tomorrow.
