Fourth TD enters Labour Deputy Leadership battle

Waterford TD Ciara Conway says she will not accept a Ministerial position – if she's elected deputy leader of the Labour Party. 

She's declared her candidacy for the position – along with Junior Transport Minister Alan Kelly from Portroe, the Minister of State for Research and Innovation Seán Sherlock and Cork TD Michael McCarthy.

Speaking in Dungarvan this afternoon, Deputy Conway told reporters she wants to radically renew the deputy leader role. 
 

The Social Protection Minister Joan Burton and Junior Health Minister Alex White are contesting the leadership job while, there is also speculation that Kerry TD Arthur Spring could enter the race – but this has not been confirmed.

The nominations for both positions will close at midday tomorrow.
