Fort Aengus Tennis Club has submitted plans to Tipperary County Council as part of a major effort to upgrade and expand its local facilities.
Located at the Fort Aengus Community Centre on Lalors Lot, the club is seeking approval to develop three new covered padel tennis courts, replacing its existing tennis courts. The proposal also includes the construction of a central concourse and viewing area to enhance the overall experience for players and spectators.
In addition to the sports facilities, the planning application outlines improvements to the community centre itself.
The club is aiming to extend and refurbish both the existing childcare facility and the multi-purpose room, reinforcing its role as a key community hub.
Fort Aengus Tennis Club says the proposed enhancements will serve both current members and help attract new ones, reflecting a growing interest in padel tennis and community-based activities.
A decision on the application is expected from Tipperary County Council by July 11th.
