Mary Delahanty – who is now County Registrar in Wicklow – was sued in the Dublin Circuit Civil Court for damages of €50,000 for defamation by Maynooth solicitor Damien Maguire.

He claimed that on St. Patrick's Day 2011 Mary Delahanty said “You are the most useless solicitor. You have destroyed your client. He will be left with nothing.”

No reference was made in court yesterday of any financial settlement being reached.
