Former President to receive civic reception

Former president Mary McAleese and her husband, Senator Martin McAleese, will receive a civic reception from Tipperary Town Council when they visit the town to receive the 2011 International Peace Award in the Ballykisteen Hotel, on Thursday, July 5.

Peace convention secretary Martin Quinn said he  has been received confirmation of attendance  from 15 ambassadors; the Attorney General;  Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces; President of the High Court; leader of the SDLP;  Chair of the Northern Ireland Parades Commission; as well as representatives of the Naval Service; An Garda Siochana; the PSNI; and the main churches and peace-based organisations from the north and south.
