Flu outbreak at South Tipperary General Hospital

Strict visitor restrictions remain in place at South Tipp General due to the outbreak of influenza in the hospital.

Strictly no children are allowed visit the Clonmel hospital – and general visiting to all wards is prohibited, apart from in exceptional circumstances.

Hospital management say all infection control measures are in place and every effort is being made to manage and contain the spread of the flu virus.

People with flu like symptoms are advised to contact their GP by phone in the first instance and avoid presenting at the Emergency Department.
