Comments from the Fianna Fail Justice spokesman on accommodation problems at the Garda College in Templemore have come in for criticism.
Deputy Niall Collins had accused the Department of Justice of failing to properly prepare when the relaunched Garda recruitment in December 2013.

This follows the news that ongoing refurbishment work at the Templemore training facility is likely to result in the next intake of recruits later this month having to be housed in the town rather than the college.
However local TD Noel Coonan says Deputy Collins is making a mountain out of a molehill – one accommodation block is being refurbished while work is being carried out on another following a Health and Safety report.
