Family of Tipperary man speak out on tragedy of drug death.

The family of a young Tipperary man who took his own life 72 hours after taking magic mushrooms is urging people not to sample drugs.

The plea was heard during the inquest into the death of father of 2 Alan Bourke just 6 months before he was due to get married.

Carpenter and farmer Alan Bourke from Tullamaine, Fethard went to Amsterdam on for a friend’s stag party in May of last year.

Cork Coroners Court heard he didn't want to take drugs but decided to try “magic mushrooms” but then suffered from guilt and paranoia after taking them.

His brother subsequently found him critically injured in a field near the family home after suffering self inflicted gunshot wounds.

The 28 year who was living in Clerihan with his partner and two young children was initially taken to South Tipp General Hospital before being transferred to Cork University Hospital where he died two days later.

Cork City Coroner Myra Cullinane Recorded narrative verdict which states the facts and also extended sympathies to Alan's family.
