Family Carers welcome €3m for home improvements in Tipp

Over €3m has been announced to carry out improvements at the homes of older people and people with a disability in Tipperary.

The exchequer is providing 80%, or nearly 2.5 million of the funding, while Tipperary County Council will come up with over €600,000.

This investment will allow extensions to be built for people with a disability as well as housing adaptations to improve mobility aid such as stair lifts and access ramps.

Richie Molloy, manager of the Tipperary branch of Family Carers Ireland, is urging people to apply for funding now.
