Topaz Energy Limited sought permission last May to redevelop their facility on the M8 in Cashel.
The motorway services area opened at Wallers Lot in Cashel in mid 2011 with Topaz applying for a major extension earlier this year.
The proposals included an extension to the existing service station building to incorporate 24 hour public toilets and shower facilities.
Additional seating will be provided for the McDonalds restaurant with the construction of a 66 square metre extension.
The planning application to Tipperary County Council also included a major expansion of the parking facilities at the Motorway Services Area at Junction 8.
The existing parking on the site is to be rearranged to incorporate spaces for 86 cars, 8 coaches, 20 HGV's, 8 motorcycles and 6 bicycle stands.
A new children's play area and refuse areas will also form part of the plan.
Tipperary County Council's planning department this week granted permission for the expansion at the Topaz site.
