The commemoration remembers Ireland's UN peacekeepers as well as those who died in past wars.
Events are taking place in Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick, Sligo and Waterford – while the National ceremony takes place at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin.
