Events to mark 100 years since Modreeny Ambush

The centenary of the Modreeny Ambush is being marked today.

The ambush took place on June 3rd 1921 towards the end of the War of Independence.

An online presentation is very much a community effort with involvement from the local drama group re-enacting parts of the ambush.

A booklet compiled by Ger Heffernan and Sean Hogan is also being launched today.
