Tipperary septic tanks perform well in EPA audit

31% of septic tanks in Tipperary failed inspection last year – the second lowest in the country.

This is better than the national average which showed more than half not meeting the required standards.

The figures from the Environmental Protection Agency also show that 81 per cent of failures in the Premier County between 2013 and 2024 were fixed by the end of last year.

Almost 1,400 inspections were carried out by local authorities in 2024 including 42 by Tipperary County Council.
