Clonmel Credit Union is offering cheap Home Energy Upgrade Loans.

The Government-backed scheme aims to encourage homeowners to invest in energy upgrades to make their homes warmer, healthier and more comfortable, with lower emissions and lower energy bills.

It provides unsecured loans from €5,000 to €75,000, for up to 10 years to carry out energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades and it’s also tied into the grants from the SEAI.

Head of Credit at Clonmel CU Michael O’Grady says this is great for their customers and members.

It means members can now apply for a loan at a reduced interest rate of 3.25 percent to carry out energy upgrades in their homes.

Michael O’Grady says it’s a great deal for anyone who wants to try and bring down their energy bills and improve their BER rating.
