End of an era as Thurles store closes.

Tributes are being paid ahead of the closure of a long standing business in the heart of Thurles.

Fitzgibbons Furniture Store which has been trading for almost 130 years is set to shut up shop in the coming days.

Crippling rates are being blamed in part for the decision and at this months meeting of the Thurles Templemore Municipal District there were calls for the issue of commercial rates to be addressed.
