A hero Garda has been honoured for his second act of courage on the job.
John Hennessy of Tipperary Town Garda Station rescued a man from a house fire in 2012.
The same year he saved a woman trapped in a burning car in Clonmel.
Garda Mark Holden, Garda J.P. O’Sullivan and Garda Alan Hayes were also invloved in that rescue, and honoured at the ceremony which took place in Farmleigh House.
Garda Hennessy received one of 15 Bravery awards handed out yesterday, and remembers the rescue well.
