The lifeboat crew launched around 4.30pm and were quickly on scene. The sailboat was taken off the sand bank and into safe water before making its way to Dromineer Harbour accompanied by the Jean Spier.
The RNLI crew is advising boat users that water levels in the lake are particularly low at the moment and to follow charted routes into harbour.
This was the 22nd callout this year for the Lough Derg RNLI.
