While we still have only one seat filled in Tipperary South the battle for the final seat is down to the wire.

Mattie McGrath was elected on the second county but his surplus wasn’t distributed at that stage with the elimination of a number of other proceeding instead.

When it finally came time to distribute the 322 surplus it has seen Martin Browne gaining 54 votes moving the outgoing Sinn Féin TD to 6,237.

Fianna Fáil’s Imelda Goldsboro picked up 52 to go to 7,271 while Seamus Healy is now on 6,316 having gained 169.

Michael Murphy has edged closer to gaining a seat for Fine Gael with a transfer of 47 to reach 10,056 with the quota at 10,270.

Martin Browne has now been eliminated with his votes being distributed – however given that there is just 79 votes between him and Seamus Healy we could be facing a recount.
