Carrick school relocating to new home after 27 year wait

111 local primary school students and 25 staff will be marching to the promised land through Carrick on Suir later.

Gaelscoil Charraig na Siúire is physically moving into their brand new school building at the site of the former St Joseph’s College building on the Clonmel Road.

A 27-year campaign to find a permanent home saw construction finally begin last year and the completion of the project in the past few days.

Principal Linda Nic an Bháird says they are all looking forward to walking from the old prefabs in Carrickbeg to the new address today.
