Workers at Bord Na Móna Recycling which operates in Tipperary and other counties across Munster and Leinster will not be going on strike today.
A one day strike was due to take place today in a dispute over Bord na Móna’s decision to sell the recycling business.
SIPTU says a deal was reached after management at the company requested a meeting with unions in Portlaoise yesterday.
Bord na Móna say the agreed proposals provide a strong framework of assurances to protect existing terms and conditions for all employees, along with a continued commitment to engage with SIPTU.
In deference to their employees BnM say they will not be commenting on the details of the proposal until they are fully briefed.
While some alternative bin collections were arranged this week to limit disruption for the waste collection schedule will resume as usual from next week onwards.
