Public Pay talks begin

The head of the Workplace Relations Commission says they’ve cleared their schedule for the next two weeks to try to hammer out a new pay deal.

25 worker pay groups and the Department of Public Expenditure are attending the talks.

There’s some concern among unions that the Fine Gael leadership battle may affect the outcome.

Oonagh Buckley, Director General of the WRC, outlined the plans for today’s talks.
